This month, in addition to a Sunday morning Buddha Path practice, we have the opportunity to hear three teachings from two wonderful teachers in our lineage, Bodhi Lama Sean Young and Bodhi Lama Shannon Young! Note: these teachings start at 8pm rather than the usual time. Contact saltlakebuddhapath@gmail.com for the zoom links.
Sunday Morning Buddha Path Practice
Sunday, April 9th 11:00am-12:15 am (MDT)
Neurodiversity and Single Present Moment Thinking:
A Dharma Teaching by Bodhi Lama Sean Young
Monday, April 10, 2023, 8:00 pm (MDT)
Join Bodhi Lama Sean for a teaching on the fundamental Buddhist principles of single present moment thinking and an experiential look at differences in cognitive and neurological conditions in learning and attention. This teaching will explore how Buddhist teachings on mind, karma, and phenomena can inform evolving debates around learning differences, autism, ADHD, etc.
Approaches to End-of-Life Care:
A Worldly Teaching with Bodhi Lama Shannon Young
Monday, April 17th, at 8:00 pm (MDT)
Join Bodhi Lama Shannon for teachings on end-of-life care. Bodhi Lama Shannon recently completed training and certification as an end-of-life doula. Sometimes referred to as a “death doula,” this role is similar to a “birth doula”— one who directs and guides a mother through the birth process. An end-of-life doula uniquely supports the dying and those closest to them. As it says on the INELDA website, “Doulas normalize deathcare by creating spaces to hold conversations leading to increased communication and increased spiritual and emotional well-being.”
Dharma and Aesthetics:
A Dharma Teaching by Bodhi Lama Sean Young
Monday, April 24th, at 8:00 pm (MDT)
Join Bodhi Lama Sean for a teaching on Buddhist principles and how they can correlate to aesthetics in art, music, literature, and film. This teaching will explore approaches towards aesthetics that help guide practitioners in both the creation of art and the appreciation of art, with a discussion on images and messages in social media.
Texts will be projected. Our teachings and practices are based on The Buddha Path, a daily practice manual written by Dzogchen Khenpo Choga Rinpoche that contains the essence of all the Sutrayana, Vajrayana, and Dzogchen teachings of the Buddha.
