Saga Dawa Retreat and Celebration

Join us for a special event commemorating Saga Dawa Duchen! Saga Dawa is the fourth lunar month and the holiest time of the Tibetan Buddhist Year. This precious time culminates in the observation of Buddha Shakyamuni’s enlightenment and parinirvana on the 15th Lunar Day, known as Saga Dawa Duchen.

This year, Saga Dawa Duchen occurs on Monday, June 17th 2019. On this auspicious day, the power of positive and negative intentions and actions increases one billion (1,000,000,000) times or more. With this in mind, the Salt Lake City Sangha would like to invite you to join our half-day retreat and celebration to commemorate Buddha Shakyamuni’s Enlightenment and Parinirvana.

This ceremony will be a precious time for Sangha to get together, engage in virtuous Dharma activities, and enjoy each other’s company. Everyone is welcome to attend!

Schedule:
4-4:50 pm Mandala offering practice
5:10-6 pm Buddha Path practice (Sutra or Dzogchen section)
6-7:30 pm Dinner (Indian/Nepali take-out)
7:30-8:30 pm Prayers, Mantras and Aspirations; Concluding practice

Please join us for dinner and concluding practice at 6 pm, even if you can’t come at 4 pm.

Volunteer at the Dzogchen Retreat Center

Volunteers needed for the 2019 Dzogchen Lineage Internship (July-September)! We are looking for babysitters, kitchen help, operation manager and assistants, from as little as one week to the full three months. Great opportunity to meet international sangha, receive teachings, and experience the magical atmosphere of the Dzogchen Retreat Center near Eugene, Oregon. Contact us for more information.

Buddha Path Practice
