Sponsor Urgently Needed Facemasks

The Dzogchen Shri Singha Foundation USA (DSSF) is calling on anyone who wants to join in the humanitarian effort to supply vital personal protection to the general public at this vital time. DSSF has found a supplier of high-quality FDA-approved surgical masks, ready to export them to the US immediately. Such protective face masks are difficult to find, yet are necessary to help communities all over the country to mitigate the spread of COVID-19 and save lives.

Currently, it costs about $1 to produce and ship one face mask (disposable ear-loop style) to the United States. DSSF has an initial goal to raise $12,000 USD in order to disperse 12,000 masks. DSSF will not make any profit whatsoever from your donation. Thanks to the volunteer efforts of our international Sangha, your donation will go entirely to the cost of importing and distributing these masks.

Donations can be used either to sponsor masks for others who desperately need them, or for yourself, family, and friends (up to a maximum of 50 per person).

Please donate NOW to this critical life-saving campaign!

How to Prevent Fear and Protect Ourselves: 100% Cautious 0% Fear

Our compassionate teacher, H.E. Dzogchen Khenpo Choga Rinpoche, has taken steps to help Sangha around the world to care for themselves and others during this time of worldwide spread of COVID-19:

“At this time, many people around the world have fear and suffering because of the novel coronavirus. During this time, it is very good to pray and practice Dharma more. As said by the Buddha, during earthquakes, natural disasters, war, epidemics, or famine, those who practice Dharma and help others
create immeasurable merit that will benefit oneself and all beings.

“The fundamental characteristic of the minds of beings is hope and fear. All beings always hope for happiness and fear suffering. Now there is a new disease spreading and everyone is afraid. Sentient beings already have fear. Now they have more fear than usual. We must manage and reduce our fear and worry, focus on solutions, and take refuge in Buddha, Dharma, and Sangha more than ever. Do not fixate on fear or worry, or overreact to the situation.”
